Job Description
The Lead Planning professional will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules across multiple projects. This role ensures effective resource allocation, timely execution, and alignment with organisational goals. The incumbent will act as the central point of coordination between project teams, management, and stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate schedules.
- Monitor project progress, identify delays, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and forecasting models for management review.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and client requirements.
- Lead planning meetings and provide guidance to junior planners.
- Support risk analysis and mitigation planning.
- Collaborate with cost control teams to align schedules with budgets.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree or professional certification (PMP, PMI-SP) preferred.
- Experience
- 8–12 years of proven experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Strong background in [industry-specific projects: construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, IT, etc.].
- Experience in leading planning teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with cost control, risk management, and resource allocation.
